Well... I believe it was from my friend brennan, he played linchpin for me. and i was like.. dude..... gods voice. ahhh!!!! then i got demanufacture, and was like, REPLICA, AHH, GODLY. then i got obsolete..... oh shit, must i even explain how i felt when i heard resurrection? ok, if you insist. FUCK GODLY, ITS GOD HIMSELF! BURTON C BELL!
A 'metal' friend of mine from high school let me borrow Obsolete when it came out. He had been trying to get me into Fear Factory for a while, but I was too into Metallica at the time. He came to school one day, put the album in my hands and said, "You have to listen to their newest album. Do it ASAP!" I put it on as soon as I got home and it was love at first listen. That was my junior year in high school, and I slowly began obtaining the rest of their albums throughout college. I don't know if I can really explain what is it about Fear Factory that makes me love their music so much. No matter what mood I'm in, all I have to do is put on one of their songs, and for that moment all the shit in my world just goes away. They quickly surpassed Metallica as my favorite band, and to this day I still have to listen to at least one song from Obsolete every day.
ozzfest 97. well actully I knew I was going to that so I bought the Ozzfest 96 video because beside one or two bands I never heard of anyone playing and most of the bands playing then, played at the original and so I bought it and Replica was on that and I thought that was pretty cool I'll see what else they had to offer. Saw them live and thought they were worth buying their CD and I did and fell in love.
first sdong i ever heard was Martyr. my next door neighboors, got me into them kinda. and then i beleive it was on MTV spring break FF played edgecrusher live for some wrestling thing and i was like, damn thats got groove. and shit. borrowed the obselete album from the neighboors. they havent seen it since.
