I know, but I'm not sure what to do about it. I mean, the fact is, the life cycle is long and it doesn't get fully eradicated for at least three weeks. We have to nit pick every day. Am I supposed to wash everything every day too? I'm so confused by this. And upset, because I feel like - am I allowed out in public, should we be quarantined for three weeks? What does one do?
Have you tried the zapping nit-comb? Yantra got absolutely expert with combing people's hair with the battery-operated electric lice comb. We were nit-free in a week. It was, however a terrifying and awful experience. I'm sorry you're living it.
Go to the store and buy a bottle of Denorex Maximum strength shampoo. Use this shampoo DAILY on everyone for two weeks (the baby probably has thin enough hair that you shouldn't have to worry about it). This will kill any emerging lice as the next two weeks go by. Do it for a month if you're feeling nervous.
We did this after several rounds of toxic lice shampoo failed to solve our problem as my kids kept getting reinfected every time they went to their dad's. The Denorex worked, the coal tar in the shampoo kills the lice.
I don't think 48 hours is enough for the stuffed toys. Try to make it at least a week, if not more. Good luck, I know this is just the most annoying thing. The biggest problem is going to be on the heads, not on the furniture. Without food, lice cannot exist, and the food is your blood. Not much of your blood on the couch (I hope!)
