I was thinking the other day how great it is that some words describe both an object, and the thing that you do with that object. Like: wedge, pin, drink, fish and switch. What am I missing?

Also, peruse means the opposite of what you think it means.

So do I. Your record something to make a record. You house people in your house. And view the view.

The ones I like are the male names that are verbs: Bob, Mark, Chuck, Bill, Pat.

Lots, I'm sure. (Lots! Draw Lots!) learnteach May 29 2009, 18:37:02 UTC
Fan. Shelf. Chair (a meeting). Radio. Book (put in appointment book). Seed. Picture. Mop, Broom...

And, the not so obvious, Pine (lonesome pine tree). Jar.

All these are visible from where I'm sitting. English is such a malleable language, and we verb nouns and noun verbs all the time (just like that!)

Happy Birthday!
