sigh. Oh man, in 1987 NWA Straight Outta Compton and Eazy Duz It defined a whole genre and was the only thing that would pry me away from Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, et. al. It was just so raw and not pop-ified.

I think the only rap CD that is equal to this day in terms of messages is Ice Cube Amerikkka's Most Wanted, and maybe Predator/Death Certificate.

Tupac, BIG, Comptons Most Wanted, geto Boys, etc. are all great, but you cant beat the first emotions you felt from hearing it. And Im by definition a music fan, mostly rock, but not a rap conisseur by any means.
