Your comment made me giggle. Now I want to go around telling people that Spock has adorable parentheses. :D

And they thought we were just in it for the ears! Pfft, no, it's all about the bracketing. Oh those asides.

you have an excellent command of Spock's character, sometimes writers make him too warm or to cold in his thoughts or words but you get it just right ... the calm rational surface with the deep well of feelings beneath

Oh,this is beautiful.
I love that you have Noyota understanding the risk they both take by being on the Enterprise and not expecting Spock to coddle her or jump to her rescue despite his own role of command.

I find I also like this little domestic moment between them.

Well done!

Oh this was a lovely start to my (insomnia driven!) day! :) Beautiful. I do love your take on Spock. This, I think, is very real:

It has taken months for them to get to this point, months for her to stop asking if this was okay, if that was. Months for him to learn to reach for her as well, to stop thinking that she could not truly want to be with him above all others. There is still a level of doubt there; perhaps it will always be there.

Perfect, and not something I've seen mentioned before. :)
