My opinion re: improv.

Improv is NOT about being funny. Personally my interest in improv is very against trying to be clever or aiming to get laughs. Sean, Jeff, and I were talking about improv in the car on our way home from Great America tonight and, because I noticed that I got pretty heated with my opinions, I am turning to LJ to share. I tend to agree its not for the haha that was funny but for the creativity spawning from every individual as the others play with that energy and create a constant flow of their own clever ideas that benefit and respond to the other persons original idea that started the sceen for its genuiness(I think I just spelled that guiness..shit not the beer sorry). I think that the haha funny can make people "dumb down" their true creativness just because they feel if they because they dont get the laughs perhaps they are not funny,and thats not true but it seems to have the effect by them surpressing their real good ideas.In the future if we catch anyone doing so we get to smack them with a fly swatter I am soon to buy. its like training a puppy not to pee on your floor. I do agree with someof what you were saying but I would like to discuss it further in person seeing as I am not late for work.
