LiveJournal vs MySpace

Could it be that the legacy of LiveJournal has ended? It seems to me that most of the people in my neck of the woods (San Francisco) are switching over to MySpace. I wonder why that is. I wonder if it has anything to do with people being more accountable for themselves on line -that is to say that on LiveJournal you aren't really necessarily ( Read more... )

i use myspace, but i don't use the "blog" thing for journal entries ... livejournal's still my home for that.

I do see your point regarding the difference in accountabilty.

MySpace definitely engenders a different sort of community than LiveJournal.

And in any case, an enduring truth: one of the internet's roots is personal unaccountablity. Weeee!

Myspace isn't really journally, though.... they are totally different sites. I am on both, but myspace is something I use to send short messages to people. That's about it.

I like Myspace more because there are more of my friends available to what I'm writing... friends I really want to communicate with. They are simply not on livejournal... I like the format of livejournal more, but less people are on it.
