I cant remember the stats exactly, but a large percentage of babies actually die from sleeping on normal beds and incorrectly placing them in their cribs(sleeping on stomach is the only way..I know you know that). But yes. Guardrails or something.
I'm sorry Ross, but you're just not an authority on this... I've read more books on the subject than you can imagine.
This was only because we are travelling and we don't have our proper setup, and I didn't know how well I would be able to hear him from the living room (15 feet away, with the door open).
Babies sleep on their backs, until they can roll over on their own, and then they can sleep how they like.
Aw babe, we ALL have days like these. Yesterday Sydney decided to be a poop machine and she just pooped ALL day. Two of the were the oh-so-fun explosions. Then today, we were playin on the floor and momma decides to close her eyes for just a minute...and I wake to hear he screaming. She had managed to roll and get her head partially stuck under the chair. I jumped up and scooped her into my arms. She was okay, just a little scrape on her head, but I still felt like a terrible mommy.
And yes, it is indeed BACK to sleep. Tummies went out like 5 years ago. Haha, geez, get with the program man. But I also read that they were supposed to sleep on ther backs for...well a long time, so I still use the anti-rollover thingy for in the their bed.
