I've never used a toddler bed. My 3yr old went straight from a regular crib into a twin sized bed at 19mos. I plan to do the same with Julian but he's still not even walking and so we'll wait a bit on him.

yep. we moved canon to a toddler bed already. getting stuck in the slats, trying to escape, the usual. his sleeping has definately decreased as well, but he seems to be doing fine with it.

Abby never sleeped in her crib, but she went from sleeping in our laps every night from 8 pm til 11 (when she moves in with us) to sleeping on her own little mattress on the floor. Instead of having to rock, drive, or nurse her to sleep, she now lays down next to us on her own little mattress and goes to sleep:)

Not yet, but I'm following the post. We're planning to cosleep again with the new baby for about 6 months or so, but would like to transition him to the twin bed well before we'll need the crib for Zy.

No, Blue is still in bed with us. He sleeps next to his crib, anyway. :-) I am thinking about putting the crib mattress on the floor next to our bed pretty soon and trying to get him to sleep there. We don't really have a separate room for him so he'll be in our room anyway, at least until we have another baby and have to move.
