I had my son and daughter and never knew. I was 25 weeks when it was done with my daughter and I did not know. The day before my son was born the doctor did a scan. My Mom was sitting there and swore she saw "a part" but I did not want to know and ignored her. I looked at the screen and never knew but I was just more in awe looking at the baby and not its legs. I think if you look for it you can tell but if not its easy to miss.
Yeah...I guess if I'm not tempted to look there it won't be so easy to find out. I'm sure all will be fine - at least if I *do* happen to see, I can prepare a little more easily (or, you know, get specific gender-based clothes/toys etc)
This will be the first time I have found out. The other two were surprises and it was great, but with this being my last and having one of each already it will be nice to know just to prepare.
I think there are so few good surprises in life though so not knowing the first two times really was the greatest surprise ever.
I would say it's really only noticeable if you know what you're looking for. With my son it was VERY obvious, but we were looking for it. You could always tell the tech that you don't want to know and he/she will turn the screen away when they are in that region. If the baby isn't in a position to see the sex, they could turn the screen back so you could continue to watch.
