hello world
I went for my ultrasound yesterday. For dating purposes. The tech said it's still to early to tell the sex of the baby. Baby was super super active, jumping around and shaking it's head and waving its arms and bicycling the feet so that a look at the nether region was nearly impossible anyway. It took 20 minutes just to get the ( Read more... )

*giggles* that's too precious. Peanut was laying down with one arm under it's head, the way I lay when I'm getting ready to sleep, and the other arm was waving away...I told the tech that the baby was waving at me and she didn't even crack a smile....tough crowd. I'm not really going to go exactly by that due date...I didn't remember my LMP because I'm so irregular. I figure I'll just let peanut bake until he/she is ready to come out and join us. =) They did say that baby was big for it's gestational age, but not abnormally so. Doc didn't seem concerned, and all the rest was normal...all the organs seemed to be doing well, my placenta was in the right spot and the fluids were good...I peeked at my chart and read all the stuff that the tech wrote when they weren't looking. *evil little laugh* I figured that it was the OJ I drank before my appointment that made the baby so active, but my sis says that as long as you're well hydrated, baby will either be moving or not moving...it just depends on the child.

it's a cute little martian :D i wonder how they tell how old it is? i figured it was by size, but if they said yours was large... maybe by development too? we were around 6-7 weeks at our dating scan, so all we saw was a little blip of a heartbeat.

in case you were curious, here's the lj-cut faq:

thank you for linking that. figured out the cut and posted the pic. really appreciate that. I'm a livejournal newb. *grin*
I think it's a combination of the size and development, but I'm really not sure. I suppose, being a first timer, I should have asked a ton of questions but for some reason I have this habit of clamming up around my doctor. I'm just relieved that peanut is ok, and doing well. =)

usually i am like that with doctors, but i just cannot shut up when i am with my midwives! i have so many questions it's ridiculous. i don't even know where they all come from. fortunately they're very willing to spend lots of time with me, cos i'm usually there for about an hour or so altogether. (i'm sure the question flow will slow down by the time i start seeing them weekly, or they are all going to be like "oh, it's THAT one again...")
