i found this on wikipedia. i was floored with amazement. george orwell would have walked these streets. i can see his characters walking with him. all the while i'm sure they never envisaged how it would change 50 years later..

the thing that grabs me the most (obviously) is the branding. of course i prefer the former, but the branding is so much more prevalent than the second. but the ads fit amongst the buildings so much more snugly upon the buildings, it sort of seems more egonomic... where as today it seems the companies wipe the canvas clean and plaster their logo atop years upon years of history.

the past was brown, the future is blue.

wow.. I like how the street lamp was in the middle of the street.. pity they moved it but nice that they kept it.

those logos are horrible...
