I'm uploading another round of pictures to flickr right now, and the web-uploader is slow, so I thought I'd do some mindless blog fun since my updates have been more rare lately. My work doesn't have tomorrow (Columbus Day) off, but I took a vacation day even though we're getting into the thick of production on our big issue. We will be fine though ( Read more... )

Hello! I'm sorry if I sounded like I was mocking naplwrimo too heavily in my entry. I'm so embarrassed because an arts blogger for the Guardian quoted from this entry a year ago in his blog about naplwrimo, when I'd never expected anyone to actually read what I'd said. :)

Last year I was applying to MFA playwriting programs, and I had no time to write a new play in November because I was revising the plays that became my writing sample. This year, I'm accepted at a program (yay!) but deferring till fall '09 (sad) in the hopes that some funding will turn up. I'm taking some elective lit classes at a state school in the meantime that will transfer. If I decide that I think I'd be able to handle my job, my class, AND writing a full-length play next month, I'd love to attempt it. Despite my snarky attitude about it last year, I do enjoy anything that motivates me to write more. :)

Oh, good, I'm glad the Guardian blog helped you out. :) I felt ridiculous when he called attention to my silly spelling (I for the longest time had the random and weird habit of changing y's at the end of words to ie's in my informal writing just for fun, and the Guardian blog is what made me scale back on that in my journal), and I felt bad that I'd come off sounding like (a) a jerk and (b) a jerk who couldn't spell. So I'm happy to hear that some good came from it.

It really is tempting to consider. I saw the NaNoWriMo site just yesterday and started to wish I was involved in something. I would just hate to start it up and not finish though. hmm. I am definitely thinking about it. If I feel crazy enough to attempt it while dealing with my annoying classwork I will do it. 24 hours to decide! :)
