Dear LadyWriter, unfortunately I know perfectly how you feel!! Lost my job in the press office area last year! Found a part time job as a secretary this year, but only for 6 months. I am home doing nothing, at the moment. As this is still a sad subject to me to analyse, I would write you a mail about it, instead, but only if you want to share some thoughts...... Anyway, you are very talented as a writer and I expect a new successfull career for you, soon.
Thank you, Lady Cassia. Far too many of us seem to be in the same boat right now in terms of employment. At some point, things have got to get better, surely?
If you would like to e-mail me, I can be reached at angieDOTlongATcenturytelDOTnet. I would be happy to share thoughts with you.
I'm so sorry to hear you lost your job! They don't know what they'll be missing.
In my opinion you are one extremely talented writer and I'm sure that you'll make a career of it someday :-). I for one will be buying any novel you write :-).
Please feel free to contact me at zille71@live.dk if you want to "talk".
Thank you, Charlotte, dearest. I do hope I can make professionally as a fiction writer one day--it is my dream. Perhaps this will be the catalyst to get me really going.
And I will hold you to that promise to buy my book. ;)
I'm sorry to hear you lost your job. Lots of(((hugs)))sent your way.
Your right to feel angry and hurt about age discrimination I've seen it happen to many women in their 40's and 50's. Passed over for promotions, wages cut, hours cut ect. When are things going to start getting better???
I also think you are an Amazing Writer. Hopefully this setback will open doors of new opportunities for you to work on your novel. "There are always silver linings in those dark clouds" How very true. I wish you lots of positive energy.
Thank you, dear Nietzsche. Unfortunately, producing quality writing seems less important than making sure TPTB get their bonuses at Boone Newspapers these days. I actually feel sorry for the two remaining editorial people as it won't be easy doing it all. And they can't help it.
Thank you, dear Tubbsie. I do so appreciate prayers, virtual hugs, supportive words--it's all good.
I will put some feelers out for another job over the next few weeks and look eagerly toward our cruise in a little less than three weeks (which is thankfully, fully paid for) . . . now, more than ever, I feel the need for it.
