Reporting for duty, sir!

((Specifically, I'm playing as that one guy who appears in the Crimean item shop during the bulk of Part II, whose personality is probably limited to his line of "For Crimea! For Victory!!" It's more a case for the laughs rather than any serious character - just watch. He won't understand some of the more advanced concepts, such as, say...self ( Read more... )

GWA HA HA HA HA!!

[Clanks up to the soldier and pats him-- hard-- on the back, armor not deterring him in the slightest!]

Welcome aboard, pup! Crimea, Elincia, Geoffrey... I know nothing of these people! But you, young soldier, are welcome to join us! I am the great General Wallace of Caelin!

[Proudly puffs his chest out and knocks on his breastplate.]

Tell me, son; what is your name?

*Looks confused*

Name, sir? I - I guess I don't have one. Not like you, General Wallace, sir!

No name, you say?

Then Bob, you are. Bob is a sturdy name for a fellow such as yourself!

[He reaches down and opens a sack that he had dropped by his feet. After removing a carefully-constructed homemade book, he hands it to the newly-named Bob.]

A good soldier should always have a name, Sir Bob! [He stands straight and tall, puffing his chest out.] And a good soldier should have a copy of General Wallace's Manual of Knightly Prowess, too! Read it and learn, m'boy!

If you say so, General Wallace, sir! Bob... Huh. Bob. That's a good name.

[With a smile on his face, the Soldier took the homemade book. Then, suddenly, his smile drooped.]

General Wallace, sir, this is a tome, is it not?

[Another one. Another bloody moppet in the way. It's as if every time she tries to take a walk, there's an idiot blocking the path-- never mind that the path is, indeed, only grass, and not a path at all. She's in a terrible mood; Umbriel's flown off toward the library (probably to eat books), and she thought she'd take a nice little stroll through the land of the damned (ie: the place everyone was presumably stuck in FOREVER) with the irritating puppy that Wallace had so kindly dumped on her...but no. NO. There's a moron in her way.]

You. [She glares crossly at him.] Find another path to block.

[The soldier shakes his head.]

Ma'am, until I get further orders from one of my superiors, I'm afraid I can't go anywhere else.

... [Oh, if the dog with her was a VICIOUS BEAST instead of a simpering little wuss, then she'd surely sic it on the craven cur standing before her.]

SOLDIER! [She stands tall and points her lance at him, her eyes smoldering.] I ORDERED you to move it! I do not have the patience to chit-chat with you about superiors that may or may not even be here!

[A hint of irritation crept into the Soldier's voice. Nonetheless, he moved a little to the left side]

Ma'am. The road is wide, more than ample room for two. Or three, if ma'am would consider the dog to be a third person.

Also, ma'am, would you please put down the lance? You do not scare me. Soldiers like me die by the hundreds for my Queen, but I would rather not you skewer me aimlessly.

You have arrived at a place that even we, the long-time residents of this Unknown Continent, are still unsure of its location, nature or history.

Thank you, young lady. I suppose I'll just hang around until my superior come by, then.

[sticks out chest proudly]

I serve under General Geoffrey as one of his men-at-arms in defense of Palace Melior! Though, my subunit commander is Crimean Royal Knight, Second Division Commander Sir Kieran [i]the[/i]Mightily Fearless Handsome and Invincible, miss!

((That's a title Kieran came up for himself, by the way.))

And, miss, they both swear fealty to Queen Elincia Ridell of Crimea. May Goddess bless her.

[Suddenly straightening up, like a board, the soldier stiffened.]

Oh, excuse me! If I may ask my lady's title, so that this soldier can address my lady with her proper rank...?

Tra~♪ la~♪ la~♫

[Fairytale!Vaida skips by happily, singing a random little ditty that she made up...randomly.]

Oh, hello, Sir.

[She smiles sweetly at the new soldier.]

Are you new? [Holding up a basket, she opens it to reveal a bunch of delicious homemade cookies!] Would you like one? You look hungry, Sir.

((The soldier would NOT know how to respond to this, by the way. So he's just going to stand around and do nothing.))
