[From the forest floor, it's a little difficult to see what was causing the racket, but it sure was loud, and surely enough to make any sane person stop in their tracks. (And Ranulf likes to consider himself sane, except when it is most convenient not to be - most of those times happened in Skrimir's presence.) He pauses, foot in mid-step, before the toe of the foot even hit the ground, and looks up, tail twitching in alert.]

[ Janaff's still struggling, trying to shove his way forward on the branch, but he is absolutely, hopelessly, completely stuck. ]

[Seems like Ranulf's thinking the same thing. Not being the sort to leave someone in distress (or maybe it's just a cat's curiosity), he hops up to a better vantage point and pulls a few branches out of the way. Upon recognizing who that familiar voice belongs to, however, he cants his head, frowning slightly.]

Odd to see you in Gallian territory, Janaff.

[It's hard to blame him - just like how Janaff found himself suddenly in different skies, the last thing Ranulf knew, he was walking around on home territory, and he had yet to realize that it wasn't (trees and more trees make poor land markers). Regardless, he reaches in with one arm, trying to pry off the sticks and twigs keeping Janaff in place. It's a pretty tough task - Janaff was apparently very skilled in getting Very Stuck.]

[ Yeah, when Janaff does something he does it right all right. He couldn't really have gotten more stuck had he tried. Falling slack, he sighs and scowls.

But waiting patiently is difficult, especially in this position, and eventually he begins to squirm. ]
