I am so glad you dropped in and enjoyed my fiction! I understand what you mean about K/S... I read a great deal of slash because it is often the only type of fanfiction that carries the emotional punch I crave - however, the slash stories I appreciate most tend to focus upon the emotional intimacy rather than the physical intimacy. Much of my fanfic writing walks a rather fine line between gan and slash. I adore emotional intimacy among characters, but am not overly comfortable with writing sex scenes. :) With Kirk and Spock, I really can see them as having either a unique and deeply intimate friendship or a romantic relationship - it depends upon how well the writer fashions the story. Either way, what they share is a delight.

Oooooo! A new reader! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! So glad you stopped by and decided to post, you beamish... ah...lurker, you! I love it when someone stumbles across my fic and has something to say. I am not widley known out there in the world of fanfic, so I don't get a great influx of readers. Maybe that just means I get to appreciate the ones that show up even more so! (How did you trip over my LJ page, by the way?)
Feel free to look around and see if there are any other stories that tweak your fancy. I have a couple NuTrek, and a smattering of other fandoms represented.
And thank you so much for commenting. It sometimes seems so few people get to read my work, though those that do and comment seem to enjoy it. :)

Two years since you reviewed? And you choose me? I am so flattered! The fact that you overcame your shyness to converse with me makes me feel very privileged. Thank you!
Come back any time! I'll keep the lurker Bunny Gods busy with some carrots and green tea - they will never notice you were here.
You are in for a real treat when it comes to TOS fic. There is some wonderful writing out there. Fans have had over 40 years to pour their love of K/S into prose. There are several good slash rec lists, but let me know if you are interested in more "gen" focused fics, as those don't seem to get the same level of attention in this fandom. Still, are some really impressive ones. I am one of those rare birds who read and enjoy both.
Oh wow! Another new reader! I must have done something right if I kept you up past your bedtime! LOL! I am thrilled you dropped by, and thanks for leaving a comment... sleep tight!
Like you, I've been a Trek fan for a long long time! Found zines in the early 80's and whoa what a ride it's been since. Took me AGES to agree to put on the slash goggles but once I did, it's been hard to take them off so I'm glad you're not offended if I see it with a rosy-slash tint. LOL This is a wonderful fic. Poor Jim, though! He's battered to hell and back here. Thank you for the warning ahead of time. I knew what I was getting in to and the payoff (a bond!) was well worth it. I am enamored of bond fics between these two. Particularly the accidental kind. This did not disappoint. I like to think that Jim adapted far easier to being bonded to Spock than he would have a Torrd. Thanks so much for capturing your vision and sharing with us!!
By the way, I found this by way of a rec on Star Trek fic finders, a livejournal comm. Just thought you'd like to know. :)
There is something special to me about a comment from a fellow "long time fan". I appreciate the newer fans, I really do, for without them the fandom would wither and die, and they can be so enthusiastic! Bless 'em! Still, it is always a treat to converse with someone who remembers what it was like "back in the day" as they say. When I stumbled across that first zine, it certainly opened a whole new world to me - in more than one way! LOL! Your journey sounds very similar to mine. I find myself struggling to deal with the recent changes in Trek and the direction it has taken, but my old TOS crew shall always be dear, old friends to me. In the words of my favorite vulcan, may you live long and prosper - and feel free to drop in for tea and cookies any time!
I totally agree that Classic Trek reigns in my heart, but I also do adore JJ Abrams revision. It's Trek for a new generation and will keep the franchise and DREAM going for a while to come. We had our day, now it's THEIR day. And if some of us happen to enjoy along the way, that's all to the good. I'll read a well done fic in either universe. Tho the fanfic pairings in the reboot universe do tend to make me hike an eyebrow. They're probably shipped in TOS too, but I never went looking and never took notice. LOL I freely admit that I believe that Spock/Uhura's pairing was meant to somehow (!) discourage us slashers. But really, have they MET slash fans, let alone TREK slash fans? LOL
Can't tell you how good it is to have someone to talk Trek with. I've never been part of Trek fandom, really and my one fannish Trek friend is hip deep in teaching college courses and studying for her PhD.
Absolutely amazing
