Seeley Booth Talks With the Devil

Yo Jeff, you can slot this right in between "Baggage" and "Help Me" (House episodes). It's going to take until the beginning of Season six Bones for them to catch up to this specific instance, since they have a lot of ground to cover. I could tell from Sweets on the disc we were on in conjunction with House that he hadn't got here yet. So we'll ( Read more... )

I had been wondering about the repeating Fae presence in Bones after the Amber resolution. This clears it up a little.

"HOUSE: Stand around staring. No, wait, I'd run real fast. Oh, nope. Wait." I can really hear this line.

Yah I thought we had it sorted like this, since obviously Amber was allowed in (as were many other people not normally allowed, such as Henry, and tons of others who got in on the action) for the tryouts, so Fae can get passes when others who are normally locked out can get passes, and:

1) Ye Olde Fae Special Army Rangers are either incarnate and dead, therefore free pass (damned-- or in the case of Teddy, a ghost from Heaven), or have a pass because of Booth.

2) Amber is the only truly deceased Box character, but of course not the only person to really die in Hell.

3) Amber can reincarnate. Or-- incarnate, I guess, for starters. I only bring this up because Wilson was all about it for awhile.

4) Tessa is an example of Fae retinue with a pass because Seeley Booth is there.

5) Rebecca and Parker, and maybe Rebecca's boyfriends, have passes because of Booth, but that's because they're royalty, not retinue.

Makes sense this way'; It does throw into sharp relief just how many "passes" are being given out lately...

One interesting thing is that if you set up a changeling, such as Booth for Sully, in which the human baby comes to live with the Fae, you end up with two incarnates who qualify as both Fae and human (or whatever species it might be-- human in the case of these guys, obviously). They just get straight-up damned, don't need passes per se.

My choice of the term "free passes" for incarnates was misleading. Incarnates aren't, say, angels, who have something they need to do in Hell, for which they are offered a pass (Alvie, Stacey, Angela), unless they were born in Hell (half-angels Cam, Felicia; full black angel Lucas) and therefore don't need one or are just rogues (Heather, *ahem* Etc. So when I say this: "1) Ye Olde Fae Special Army Rangers are either incarnate and dead, therefore free pass (damned-- or in the case of Teddy, a ghost from Heaven), or have a pass because of Booth ( ... )
