I hate Photoshop. Not because it's widely used, which it is, and not because it's considered cheating by a lot of old-school photographers, which it is also, but because it's so damn easy. I'm learning how to use it and it angers me that I can get an infinite array of images from the same 3 useless snapshots as if I had something bigger in mind to ( Read more... )

photoshop is neat and useful,
I do however agree that most artists now-a-days use photoshop to make too much clutter.

digital cameras tend to have images that appear washed out.
this is where photoshop comes in... there is no dark room for digital images, to enhance or alter the coloration. learn to use the curves tool, to pull the color out of digital pictures. Digital cameras are great, but the ease of them makes for a proliferation of medicore pictures... instead of a few great shots.

anyways, thats my 2 cents.

I think the division between film and digital media isn't as pronounced as most people assume, one can complement the other. Personally, though, I don't consider extensive digital enhancement to be true photography. It takes eyes beyond the computer.
