what is the difference between confidence and arrogance? i was called arrogant tonight, but in reality i just think highly of myself and have a lot of confidence. if i didn't i'd be all depressed and no one likes depression!

I see it like this: confidence is thinking, "I'm good."
Arrogance is thinking, "I'm better."

it seems to me that people put a negative connotation to confidence altogether, and that makes me mad. i think confidence is a good thing.

Yeah, that is pretty messed up. When a person lacks confidence, they miss out on things, think little of themselves, and are miserable. Confidence is absolutely a good thing.
