And I know this is *kind of* awful, but have Petsmart pay the $3000, and start saving up money when you start working on commission. For example, you said the one woman made $1000/week & tips? Then it would just be 3 weeks until you could pay them back! That way you wouldn't have to work for them for two years.
Also, even if the tools are pricey, it sounds like they'd pay themselves off if you got quality tools that you could use forever.
So if you can, I think you should go for it! :) It'd probably really help out with paying for Vet school too. :)
