I can't find the post (I know there was at least 2) where I go back in my LJ posts from the past year and I write the first sentence of an update of each month. Since I can't find it, I'm not sure if there's text preceding the actual entries so oh well.

January (2nd EST):
5:20pm on January 3rd. Charlotte and I have 5 days left in Paris.. technically only 4 days to do anything since our flight leaves at 1pm on the 8th :(

February (4th):
I have a partial update going but really haven't had the time to actually finish it...

March (1st):
Ugh, I totally did not mean to sleep in until 10:45... wtf.

April (2nd):
Uuughhhhh, I'm opening Starbucks Wakefield tomorrow morning... at 5am.

May (1st):
So remember that post I made not too long ago regarding a bride who didn't like the "ultra-low, scary version" of Canon and I made an off-hand comment to Morgan saying that we should play Canon in d minor for her and see what she thought then?

June (12th):
Just for the record, I really don't like rain.

July (19th, hahaha, so late... and it's a private post too):
Ergh, I got myself into a bit of a dilemma.

August (1st):
It is officially August now... Where the hell did my summer go????

September (2nd, I felt the whole post was necessary):
Happy birthday to baby Caitlin Anne, daughter of Profs. Brian and Audrey Cardany. Please send hugs, kisses, and above all, love, to your mommy and daddy from above!

October (3rd):
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Isn't it weird how trying to impress someone always has the opposite effect?

November (6th):
My cooperating teacher told me today that she thought I was a really great teacher, paused as to end the sentence there, then clarified that there was no "but" to follow that statement.

December (14th):
Let the countdown begin: 5 more days left of student teaching!!

And to steal from Jenna who stole from another friend, here are my 2009 Highlights (is it sad that I will be using my calendar in order to do this? Yes, yes it is...):

January: I spent the first week of the New Year in Paris with a good friend and we got to stay in her family friends' flat IN Paris! A certain boy and I are start getting involved escapades of sorts which helps keep my mind off of Ryan but I figure out while in Paris that I was kind of over him even then... It's the Year of the Ox -- supposedly when the lunar calendar lands on the year that you were born, you will have great luck. Carried over from the year before, I'm working at Starbucks, I'm teaching private lessons at home and at Moses Brown.

February: I meet up with a guy I met on OkCupid (shhhh, I've had that account since I think, junior year of high school??) who was in Boston auditioning for grad school on percussion. We still text every once in awhile. I start prep sessions with Audrey to take the Praxis II one last time...

March: I am hired to play for URI Opera Workshop's "Monkey See, Monkey Do." I forgot how much I missed playing in a GOOD pit orchestra (there were only 10 of us and Brian conducted us. I even got sombreros for our pit for our performances!) Took the Praxis II exam and I came out of the exam in tears. Escapades with said boy continues.

April: I start a long-term sub position as Strings Teacher (with Sue Curzio!) for the SK Elementary String Program. I'm at Peace Dale, Wakefield, and Matunuck Elementary. Will comes to visit and we go out the Mews with Adam and Charlotte. Laurette was also there with her younger daughter Katherine (who is in middle school maybe?) and husband. Katherine comes over to hang out with us for a bit and calls Will a "mean man." XD I find out that I've passed the Praxis II so I can FINALLY finish my music education degree!

May: A lot of the same stuff: teaching at various elementary schools in SK, teaching private lessons, teaching Moses Brown students comes to a close for the summer, working at Starbucks, wedding season officially starts and my first season with RIPCO comes to a close (which also means guarantee of seeing said boy every week comes to an end also). We are still hanging out but the number of times we actually get together is starting to decrease also. I also lose health insurance through Starbucks (I thought I lost it earlier?) due to not getting enough hours and start paying out the ass for COBRA.

June: Sue and I (with help from the middle school string teachers) pull off our first (big) elementary/middle school concert as string teachers with 75 elementary aged string players.... woah. Went to Casey's for their Teacher Appreciation Day and met up with said boy (and apparently about 20 of his coworkers) -- a bunch of them were asking if we were dating, lol.

July: SKSSO and SCCO start up and the URI Strings Camp happens. Boy #2 drama happens mid-month, it was intense but quickly diffused by myself. I am also informed the same day I diffuse drama with boy #2 that boy #1 is now dating someone... Gigging and teaching like crazy, alongside working at Starbucks. I start taking tango lessons with my partner in crime, Morgan :) I get stitches for the first time EVER after getting two moles removed. I get an e-mail out of the blue from a wedding coordinator that I heart. I can't quite consider him boy #3 since it's very one-sided and so began the over-analyzing of our correspondences and interactions.

August: Lynn and Mark get married!! I have my kinda-sorta-not really annual summer studio recital with Jeff as my accompanist. SCCO and SKSSO comes to a close with great concerts. I start subbing for the Amari String Quartet and I start my first day of student teaching at my old elementary school... by sitting through Professional Development Day :P August 24th was also my last day working at Starbucks.

September: Student teaching commences. There's a lot of observing happening the first week and into the second/third week. The first classes I take over is during week 2, 4th and 5th graders (general music). Moses Brown lessons start up again, still teaching private studio lessons and we still have gigs every weekend. I force Naseer to get his act together and finish his degree. He only had to pass portfolio and should've graduated in May 2008!

October: Leslianne gets married!! First time in the 10 years of gigging Morgan and I have done that a wedding did not happen... We've had weddings canceled well in advance but all the guests were present and even the bride and groom... This happened on 10/31, Trick or Treat, I guess they got Trick... Changed over to my secondary placement in Cranston with one of the most respected string teachers in RI :) My kindasorta boy #3 leaves me a voicemail mid-month proposing a partnership of our group becoming the house ceremony musicians for his venue (!!!!!!) I play in the URI Alumni Orchestra Concert featuring David Kim as the soloist, aka: my violin idol since I was little. When I introduced myself to him, he said he definitely remembered me :)

November: I try out kickboxing for the first time in a class setting ("Chickboxing") on Veterans Day and haven't had the time to go back yet =/ Maybe now I can now that my schedule has opened up. Trish and Don get married!! My cooperating teacher tells me, only 2 weeks into my placement with her, that she thought I was a really great teacher, paused as to end the sentence there, then clarified that there was no "but" to follow that statement.

December: Crunch time for portfolio. Naseer and I have been steadily working on our portfolios and he's actually done with his a full day before I am! I get to take my middle and high school students to the RI State House with my cooperating teacher. 3 busses and 100 string players... Good experience however it was really weird being on the chaperone side of a field trip... lol. I've passed both portfolio and seminar/student teaching so I will be certified in the very near future!!
