I really really like that idea about writing down your own character definition, especially aspects that are not part of movie canon. I'm always interested to see how other people see their characters and which bits of fanon character definition they have adopted for their own fics.
And by the way, I agree with you considering every single aspect you wrote down. :D
Of course, I had to steal it for my own LJ to write about Norrington.
While replying to your comment on my LJ I realized I had still to comment to this (apologies !)
2) is intensely, personally loyal to Norrington (implies slash romance or not; either works) That was beautifully said. Whatever the feelings their relationship implies, it's always a "positive" one
3) is half Irish with a little French blood. He isn't ashamed of his heritage but knows it works against him in the Royal Navy Oh, that's interesting !
5) is brave and a good fighter, but has never been called 'brilliant' And this is a brilliant observation :)
6) loathes and distrusts Elizabeth (and the feeling is mutual); secretly thinks Sparrow's worst crime was fishing her out of the bay LOL ! How true ! *g*
