So I arrived in Kobe on Tuesday, with another person in the program (dave). We have dorm rooms on Kobe's Port Island, which are insanely cheap! Part of our orientation was a home stay over the weekend. I was with an older husband and wife in their 60s, who live in Yosokusa.  It was pretty fun, we took the dog, Cookie, for a couple walks, went to Kamakura for sightseeing (pictures coming soon), ate a lot of food, watched the Japan vs. Holland soccer game, went on a seaside drive, and played ( Read more... )

Well well, I'm here reporting from my first week in Japan, which is being spent in Kamakura Prefecture, in the Shonan area (near the ocean!).  The EAPSI (the program I'm in) orientation is being held at a place called Sokendai, at "Shonan Village International Center" (or something like that).  Its on top of big hill where we can see the ocean (see ( Read more... )

Going to be stuck in a van for the next who knows how many hours. I guess this is a perfect time to write a journal entry.
