Blows noise-makers, throws confetti, unlooses steamers-- Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!

Unlooses streamers, even. It's all those ocean-going vessals you people eat in LRD that confuse the poor foreigner's brane.

Ahaha, I didn't even catch that. But I'd love to have ships greeting me (seeing that launching them is pretty much impossible, as my facial attractiveness might be measured in nano-helens). Instead we got the seasonal haze (caused by smoke from burning Indonesian forests) which apparently swept over the airport and the whole island, more or less at the same time as my plane.

O-hisashiburi to the food, the people and places, and even (alas!) the weather.

How was your jaunt up north? Are you still in SG?

the weather! really? i have been finding the weather incredibly tiresome, and to some degree am even looking forward to cold dreary england...

cameron highlands was pleasant, though probably not at all representative of malaysia, in the same way that venice is perhaps not representative of italy. am in SG until monday evening!

Doubtless I shall tire of it soon, but for now am finding it (as long as the fan works!) a welcome change from the cold. Though one could do with cleaner air and a little less rain (the main attractions of Adelaide), it's the whole package that counts ^_~

Cameron Highlands weather is ideal, but I wouldn't want to live there all the time :p
