The down! The down! Aaaaghhh I can't look!! The only thing worse is the up! (cowers trembling)
Why do Chinese mountains turn into fingers? Does anyone know? They don't do that in Europe or NAmerica that I'm aware of. Mhh, mesa bluffs in the desert apart, I mean.
Your masks are gorgeous! I would order them in a minute if I were going for a masquerade theme party *_*
(just saw them, and the AC drabble after reading your journal - it's been that long a hiatus from LJ >_<)
Giovanni, and Maria (from your description alone), are an excellent match. I don't know the AC characters that well, but you drabble makes me want to :D
they have built all sort of stuff that wasn't there
Lots of amenities (and then some) for the tourists - there's a sort-of monorail running through the Wulingyuan, and of course bridges and stairways to reach previously inaccessible areas.
yay, lj activity! and hurrah, photographs! the scenery in all these pictures is stunning, and the topography in the first two pictures is surreal. the extravagant set of that performance boggles the mind, too. thanks for sharing. *_*
i hope your festive season has been going as well as is possible in your profession. :D;;
The most interesting shots were taken from the bus or an open viewing area. Photos taken in the mountains themselves tend to be rather more prosaic, in comparison to the actual sensation of vertigo XP
I don't remember anything about the plot or songs of that musical, but the sets made up for everything else.
The festive season has been much the same as festive seasons go - it's just a tad inconvenient that many people go on leave and administration shuts down.
I hope you have not been too bothered by the snow!

Possibly because most of these are karst formations? Still doesn't fully explain why the ones in Zhangjiajie are pillars, though.

i don't think any of the photos posted are particularly prosaic, but i expect photos of any sort cannot live up to actually being there. *_*
i was away for worst of the snow, fortunately! though i expect such problems will recur until spring.
