So..it's finally the end...
I've passed the point of no-return into complete Lawyerity, as evinced by my conversation with
elizabeth this morning...
ME: ...yeah...this morning really was unacceptably chilly...
We should talk to someone about getting that taken care of.
elizabeth: Yes. Someone. Who would that be again? Our IT guy is pretty good.
Or maybe you could launch a lawsuit against nature? If you won you could really make a name for yourself...
ME:Well...I tell you what, you should definitely talk to your IT guy...or...whomever works on climate control...because our office is always frigid.
The problem with suing Mother Nature is that we'd TOTALLY have to go the class action route to make it worth while. And I'm pretty sure that Gaia would count as indigent, so the best we could do would be to get an injunction, since monetary damages would never pan out. Problem with class action suits is that they take a really long time, so even if we got it expedited we'd be into autumn or winter before the thing even got off the ground. At that point, I reckon we'd be dismissed based on mootness, since the weather would probably be about where it should be by then.
Plus, at this stage, class action against mother nature for inappropriate weather conditions is just *begging* for a countersuit.
Also? This entire message is entirely your fault. DO NOT FEED THE LAWYER!
For those of you out there who find that uninteresting, incomprehensible, lame and/or dull...good on ya'. You're probably healthier in mind and spirit then many of us.
For those of you out there who are laughing: I can only say that I'm very sorry. We should start a support group or something...
