I didn't really know what to take away from the whole watch thing, but your interpretation is good. It could be a warning sign.

I like the analysis over the watch. I did not know the bus driver passed by as his watch was going crazy. However, I don't understand how the watch represents how repetition in life cannot happen. Is it really saying someone cannot live like that or more so that it is better to live differently than that?
