deep introspective stuff

After checking my visa status on the Australian Immigration Department website for the squillionth time and noticing that a condition had popped up next to it (maintain appropriate health cover, meaning give our companies more money), I googled my visa subclass randomly and had a nasty shock. Apparently Temporary visa 485 takes 9-12 months to ( Read more... )

I'm getting so many sad faces for this post, and I don't know why. I mean to be to-the-point, and I even end on an optimistic note. Why the sad face? I'm chasing my dreams.

It just has a tone of sadness at the beginning. Plus it's...hard to get to the point of doing what you really want to.

Because I was sad when I wrote it, and I can't exactly write about my hopes for the future when I'm still not sure where things are going from here. Maybe I need to write a follow up so that people dont think I'm going to kill myself or anything

You can get a Bridging Visa (B) that lets you out of the country for 3 months at a time - they issue it immediately.

Visas suck, though. I've got my PR app in and ugh, the paperwork!

I understand your situation, and I empathize with you. Truly.
But what I wanted to add was,

When you are passionate about something, you will do ANYTHING to do it. It is equivalent to chasing your dreams, perhaps because it's something you've wanted to do all your life, or you find it's your calling (that's what happened for mine), or just that, you enjoyed doing it that you definitely don't mind doing it for the rest of your life @ make a career out of it, even.

Reading your post had me surprised initially, but I'm here to say that, I'll support your decision to chase your dreams - after all, everyone has the choice and right to do it. No one has the right to stop you - not even your parents. Be optimistic like the way you are now, and you'll definitely get to do the things you wanted - writing :)

I know this reply is a few months late but I was reading my old posts, feeling slightly embarassed and silly and all, but why did you say that reading this post surprised you?

Because well...this thing that happened, I had never thought it happened to you. Coz I see most of our classmates from cempaka sort of knew what they wanna do with their lives, and from what I know so far, they stuck with their decision e.g. YunYi with medicine, Kenny with mech-engineering, Denny with chem engineering, etc.
So here too I was thinking along, "Felicia's gonna get a science degree too" - and then I saw this post...
