Anxiety

I have terrible anxiety. I can't stop thinking. I can't sit still or sleep...so I'm going to make a list of things that make it worse and things that make it better. Having something to do helps ( Read more... )

Making lists like this is a classic anxiety-relief tactic. You're more in control of something if you've identified it and written it down.

other good things: excercize. and reminding yourself that when things are beyond your control, they're beyond your control.

one definition of stress is unfulfilled desires. if your desires are unreasonable or impossible (e.g. the desire to control something you can't), you will always feel stressed about it.

we see a lot of people with stress and/or anxiety in the acupuncture clinic. and acupuncture does help, but ultimately people need to change themselves and basically become a lot more zen about things.

Yeah...I'm starting a new job next month. I got exactly what I want. I just get nervous when I think about everything changing, which is all good. I don't know why I freak out but making lists does help!!!
