I had to laugh a little because Ginny is constantly being written as a stealer of socks. My first thought was that the baby's socks wouldn't fit her. But a 'thing about toes' is rather common among new Mums.
Take that old Van Morrison song and change the lyrics. "Have I told you lately how much I love your writing."
Jeez Louise, you are fantastic. YOU HAVE TO WRITE A NOVEL. Am I making myself clear? I know, in my spare time, you say! But seriously, you are so gifted. Your prose it like poetry and your sense of setting, humor and voice are excellent.

As for a novel... I've been toying with an idea for about a year in my mind. Perhaps it'll grow into something. For now I want to clean up my big HP fic and then see how things are going. After the baby's born in November I might now have much time for writing! Actually, I think I'll blame it on the broken laptop. Since the laptop broke last spring my wife has been using my desktop and I don't get to use it much anymore! Not much of an excuse is it?
Speaking of writing, I have a question for you. In my last HP fic I created a character who was supposed to play some sort of actual role in the story. As it turns out, he just fizzled away and I lost interest in him. Now I'm thinking I should just wipe him from the story completely since his character could only confuse the reader rather than add to the plot. What do you think?
