For those of you in the area, any recommendations for a good restaurant in the Kitchener/Cambridge/Waterloo area? Victoria and I are going out for dinner tonight and would like a nice and interesting place to eat.
Would it still get a strong recommendation to two people who don't drink beer? We'll sometimes share a martini, but otherwise don't really drink much.
I just looked at the menu and there's definitely a few interesting choices on there... I'll certainly point it out to Victoria and see what she thinks. Thanks!
Blackshop looks pretty good from the menu, although the prices are a bit beyond what we're wanting to spend tonight I think - maybe save it for a special occasion.
Sole looks good too - and live jazz music is good! We'll maybe check that out on a Saturday sometime.
A lot of it depends on your price range. The Mongolian grill is always fun when you want to create what you want. The Blackshoppe in Cambridge (right across from the mongolian), I have never been to, but the one in Galt looked fabulous and expensive. A nice breakfast spot in Kitchener is Country Boy...delicious coffee, and quick breakfast, but you aren't rushed out of there.
There is also a Brazillian place that has all those meat servings on swords, and a Hawaiian place that I have wanted to check out, that I see when I drive down the 8 from Cambridge. They have a Red Papaya if you ever get nostalgic, on Fairview.
And Golf's steakhouse is one of my favourites that I have been to. I paid about 60$-70$ and it was an all you can eat salad bar, which includes shrimp and others, and I had a stuffed rainbow trout, and my date at the time had a seafood platter. Definitely a nice dress up place to visit.

I just tried this restaurant in Hamilton (obviously not the K-W area, but still...) called The Bean Bar. It was amazing! Definitely worth the drive.
Also, Sole is really good... and they have live jazz bands on Saturdays. http://www.sole.ca
Sorry I'm not much help :)
