I found about the deal last night when I got out some money at my bank and decided to take a quick look in the EBGames store next door. My friend Geoff had purchased Mario Party 8 for us to play on my Wii awhile back, and it had proven ( Read more... )

I'd love to get a Wii but I can't justify it. I have about 20 games on the hard drive of my 1st-gen Xbox (it's modded) that I haven't even touched yet.

I haven't owned a console since the SNES, but thought the wii would be worth it, and it has.

I bring it out to family gatherings and my parents love it. I don't think my mother has ever played a video game before, or even had the desire to, but she's enjoyed playing the Wii. It is far and away the best party console ever made. (Some of the single player stuff is pretty sweet too though... just finished Metroid Prime 3 and I would put it right up there as my favourite FPS, along with Half-Life 2.)

Super Mario Galaxy
Mario party 8
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Mario Olympics
Pokemon Pearl
Pokemon Diamond

Damn, I was hoping some gamecube games were on the list. But I guess that wouldn't be very cost-effective for them.

Haha, true. Even as it is, it's a crazy deal. Half the games on the list you can easily find used for $30, saving you $20-$25 off the price of Mario Kart Wii, just by buying the one game and then immediately trading it in. I can hardly see the point of the deal, as it pretty much -has- to lose them money. It reminds me of the airmiles promotion from Punch Drunk Love.
