Foo...
The ferret boys have 4 days left on their medicine if it lasts that long.
Late last week Baron started getting worse. (He was really the only one this
time with no symptoms until *right* before we went to the vet. Weirdness.)
It was about the same time he decided he was *really* gonna fight
the whole medicine idea. We thought maybe it was stress but within 48 hours
after the absolute last dose of Flagyl he started throwing up and since then
has wanted nothing to do with anything we try to give him -- even Ferretvite
and that's his absolute most favoritest thing in the whole wide world.
(Having his picture taken is second.) So it's back to forcing it on him
and that's creating more stress which is making things worse. And then
there's the fact that we're experimenting with their diet again. (I'm
usually really thrilled to play mad scientist. :,\)
It's hard to gauge this time which of them is doing the worst. Jendax has
the least energy, Stitch appears to be the most underweight and Baron has
the worst symptoms. D: (Meanwhile, Stitch and Baron were having a dance-off
to see who has control over the giant plastic bag. I didn't see who won but
now Stitch is playing with one of the nubby trays that came out of my gel pen
display dealie and Baron's cleaning out my purse for me. Jendax doesn't
want to wake up today.)
And in the time it took me to type everything in (...) they got tired of
all of that and went back to the plastic bag argument.
I should be happy they're not in the plants.
They all 3 seem like really happy ferrets and definitely more healthy than
they actually are. I've been really proud of Stitch through this whole medicine
ordeal. He was the one I was certain was going to send us to the emergency room
but from the very first dose I've been able to give him the Flagyl and the Amoxicillin
without any sort of argument so long as I mix it with some Ferretvite. (And this is
why I shall always be a fan of feeding off the hand.) If he'd hit a pocket of the nasty
stuff he'd just shake it off and try again. But then the other boys'd scream and
cry when it was time to take theirs. :( Baron was the biggest screamer. Jendax
just taught himself how to throw up by sticking his paw down his throat until
such time as he was able to just do it at will. O.o;
Maybe he taught Baron.
So anyway, with the weather getting ugly we made a supply run yesterday after the
plumbers left. (arg) Dog stuff, cat stuff, ferret stuff...all manner of stuff really.
Too much stuff. Got the Rafi and the Leo a new scratch pad thinger. Leo went after
it right away. 5 minutes later I look over and Rafi's lolling on it. I presume he
was suddenly possessed by the spirit of Jendax's texture fetish. *nod* *smile* *moving
right along*
We got a couple things-a new sheets too. And this is *weird*. I throw them in the laundry
so's maybe it's not like sleeping on cardboard the first time but I've got kindof a
laundry backlog happening. First load goes down. I come back up. Rafi's half asleep on
the new sheets. You can feel the purr through the floor. O.o; He spends a lot of time
turning around trying to find I guess the absolute most comfortable configuration. I
snap a few pictures and move on. It's a cat thing. Surefine. Next time I look over it's
Leo doing the same thing. Mmm...kay. I think they spent a good portion of the night
switching off like that. Hawk said he couldn't get to sleep 'cause they were driving him
crazy but I never got walked on (or my elbow stood upon) and I found Leo in those sheets
this morning.
Two forms of kitty crack now, yeaY! (They're going to be SO mad when that load goes down
later. ^_^)
Any other rambles I got are really depressing for the most part. And I gotta catch up on
mail. V_v; And it's past medicine time again.
I'm way behind on everything. I kinda just wish I could have my breakdown all at once
and get it over w/ instead of all these kicks and starts. I b'leev it would free up
some serious time. Axtually what I need is not-serious time. Better boys. Better weather.
A maid. Oh my yes.
And last but definitely not least, thank you very much yellow rose ninja. *heart* T'was
a bright spot on a bad day.
