I love this book. In fact my whole family does we’ve all read it. The world that Pullman creates is beautiful, complex and somehow very vivid. The main character Lyra is fiery, tough and brave and it’s brilliant to read a young adult fantasy with such a strong female character at the centre. The series plays with religious mythology challenging authoritarian rule and original sin myths while also creating plenty of mythology of its own. Definitely recommended.
