The kitten has been named! I have dubbed him "Mika" ("MEE-ka"). I found it on a baby name site; it claimed it meant "Gift from God" in Hebrew. However, that baby name site is full of crap; every other website says it means "Who is like God?" (Yes...it is a name that is a question. I don't know, man.) I don't like that as much, but it's a good cat ( Read more... )

I was just about to ask if you'd played him any Mika. Clearly we are of the same mind. :D ( ... )

I APPROVE OF THIS NAME :DDDDDDD It seems to suit him from the pictures and it's both adorable and grown-up-like. He sounds absolutely amazing (I miss my kittyyyyyy). LOL MOMMY AND CUDDLING.

But yeah. Cats. You exist to attend to them. :)))) GLAD YOU ARE HAPPEEEE

Ugh, my uterus attacked me a few times while I was working retail. It's the worst thing, because you can't even sit down!

Theoretically, especially with kittens, the proper way to discipline them is to bop them lightly on the nose/head. Apparently this is what their mother would do? Anyway it seems to work, except sometimes they just think you're playing a wonderful game and try to "play with" (i.e. bite and claw) the hand that bopped them. So blowing in their face is another possibility.

Definitely do whatever you can while he's young, because it's much harder to change behavior patterns in an adult kitty.

Is Sylvia warming to him at all?

I'll try the bopping thing. He already seems pretty drain bamaged so I figure his little head can't get any worse :D

Sylvia still hates him a lot. Sometimes he can get pretty close to her before she notices he's there and freaks out, but in general as soon as he gets within 10 feet of her she starts growling and hissing.

I think that's a good kitty name. I think it's a better kitty name than it is a person name.
