Waiting for the Shark-Jumping
What do you do when a show you like is verging on sketchy territory?
So I'm a little worried that Caprica's about to get into evil-killer-lesbian territory. I mean, clearly Clarice is some sort of high-level evil genius--and already identified as bi and poly--and now with Amanda Graystone shacked up at her cabin in the woods? I don't know, I'm just unsure where this is going, and worried it's going to suck.
And yet? Caprica is still an enormously compelling show, Clarice in particular is a character I'm fascinated by (I like watching high-level evil geniuses!), and I hated Amanda at the end of last season but this new twist gives her real potential to stop frustrating me. I want to like it! But, Gods, is it gonna fail me?
So, how do you prepare yourself? How do you keep loving the good bits, without anticipating all the time that there's gonna be fail?
