Ochra Bread

Another newer than New South recipe from me--ochra bread. This weekend I donated a zucchini and other ingredients for mosno to make yummy zucchini bread. I adore zucchini bread and could consume my total daily vegetable intake that way if I though it was healthy. I never squeeze the excess water out of the veggies. I know it says to do that. But I like my cake all moist, so I skip that part.

I'm glad that it turned out good and not slimy!

I've also done it before with brown sugar and it tastes hella good that way too!

Good points. I did a really half-assed job of squeezing out excess water and produced bread that was pleasantly moist.

This sounds really excellent. You can take the girl out of the South, but you can't take the South out of the girl, and to this day, ochra remains one of my favorite veggies. Unfortunately, I don't accumulate ochra like I do bananas.

Born in Florida. Raised in Atlanta. Moved, kicking and screaming, to MN at the tender age of 13. Still miss the sunshine and the fried ochra. No so much the whole Southerness of it all.
