I believe in science and research. I think it's amazing when cures for diseases are found or a woman who is deemed infertile can have a baby. I surely wouldn't want an incurable disease, nor would I want anyone I love to die from one. I already lost my dad to something no one knew how to cure ( Read more... )

I think as history has shown us, as soon as one disease is "fixed" with a vaccination, something new will come up. We still have things that are medical mysteries: fibromyalgia, MRSA, Autism, etc. Plus, there are bound to be continuing genetic birth defects. Unless we breach the insurmountable decsion as a society to test for such things before a child is born. Or master-mind some kind of super human race which hasn't got any proclivities to any of those genetic disorders. I fear that kind of future, because I think the gene pool would start to become too homongenous.
