I have no words...

A friend of mine, film maker and all, has been nominated... for an Oscar!

7:35 in the morning is a very very low budget film he did with his mates just after he graduated! Shows what a long way talent goes... If you want to see it and have broadband, you can here.

My congratulations to him.

Yeah, me too! If I find someone with Sky TV, that is... When Almodovar was nominated with 'All about my mother' we had to hire a hotel room in Sheffield to see it!

With such a simple 7'35 short film as well! It's inspirational!

That's pretty fucking cool. Is he the same guy who did All About My Mother? Chloe's always giving me Spanish film titles to track down, I try to watch as many as I can find subtitles for. Have you seen Intacto?

Yes! I saw intacto and thought it was OK. Unfortunately, the friend I am referring to is not Almodovar (All about my mother) but Nacho Vigalondo. He is nominated on the short film (live action) section. Have a look. It only lasts 7 minutes 35 seconds!

Spaniards clearly make the best films ... la_espanola February 1 2005, 13:54:21 UTC
Now, where did I leave my cine-camera ...?

At the moment, yes. Definitely. I have been watching the whole of Almodovar and pretty much all of Medem. Even though it was the fifth time I've seen High Heels, I still found something I hadn't noticed before. I love Letale (that's not news, I guess)

My mum has just called - she and my Dad are desperate to see "El Mar Adentro" but it isnt on in their tiny town, so they are considering a trip to London just to see it. It better be good ... Although, as it stars Javier Bardem, even its bad, I would enjoy looking at him!
