When it comes to cosmetics, nothing can beat the Oxford Street Debbenhams experience. I managed to end up there at my lunch hour as my attempts to find YSL's Rouge Pur Transparent number 14 in one of the suburban branches had proved highly ineffective (they are discontinuing one of the most beautiful lipstick ranges ever... I don't think he has managed girly dress very well yet. I must take him to the Yves Saint Laurent wonders counter sometime soon...

My missus has some of those 'Cinema' heart things from Debenhams. Be warned, they bleached half the clothes that were in the drawer with them.

Thanks for the tip. The mentioned drawer is full of uniformly black clothes... I don't want them to become experimental fabric... What could I use them for instead? They smell rather strongly...

I want to share your Debenhams experience. My skin is dreadful and I have NEVER found a product to make it look HUMAN never mind actually, and the mind boggles here, NICE. I don't CARE how much I have to spend on a miracle product, I'll do it. But previous trips have lead to me dashing to nearby PUB toilets, frantically washing off shades of orange applied by sub-air stewardesses - I now fear them greatly. Alas!

I recommend Yves Saint Laurent make up. It is the least sticky I have found in years. I think the trick is the appliance as much as in the product. The women at Debbenhams did a fantastic job with me, one I could not repeat however calm or drunk I get. One day after purchase, I had to take the £20 eyeliner back. After trying it on, I looked like a Picasso painting...
