Does the fact that is a certainty alleviate your fear?

Sadly. Indeed, I have to agree. However, I still don't undertand why we can't learn when we know it is a certainty. It's so D'Oh!

I read an essay recently that analyzed Nietzsche's influence on psychoanalysis. They likened his eternal recurrence to the repetition-compulsion and suggested that Freud was probably more familiar with Nietzsche than he would've liked to admit.

This is a pearl of wisdom.Yes,it returns with a vengeance, and for the most part we are helpless, like little puppies ,at the sheer force of it.
But,how to deal with this? Well, the most direct way is to confront it,face to face, but few people have the stamina to do that.
Better to use the circle, the endless roaming of past dangers behind our back, and assume the certainty of it...(and learn to enjoy it...;)
