U_A, Twin meeting!

(Because I have no idea what I'm doing, and never thought about this beforehand. >.>;;; Apologies in advance for the double-post, I'm cross-posting this to Tesu's journal once I'm done here.)

“Oy, Twin!”

Delilah Aoyama stopped in her tracks. That voice was familiar enough to break through her omnipresent music-trance, and she half turned, then jumped to the left, narrowly avoided Tesumi’s punch at what would have been her shoulder.

Undeterred the black-haired teen spun and whipped her leg up, a kick that would have easily caused a great deal of damage, had Del not prepared for it.

“In the middle of the street twin?” she teased, not bothering to launch counters of her own. “I take it you missed me.”

“Che.” Tesu grumbled and dropped into a relaxed stance, tucking her hands int her pockets. “Been lookin ‘verywhere fer ya! Met some int’restin people while lookin tho.”

“So have I,” and Del grinned, “apparently they met you first. What was this I heard about a math-speaker with a megaphone?”

Tesumi snorted and shook her head.

“Some idjit standin in th plaza babbling sommat ‘bout rulin th city,” she shrugged. “Tried baitin ‘im but he got borin ‘fter a bit, so I started wanderin. S’a big place. Seen th rest?”

“Nope,” Del shrugged. “I have to admit, other than Sam I’m glad to have the time away from them. Gotten any annoyed texts yet?”

“Nope. S’weird, I half ‘spected ta get one las night when I went ‘round th park fer hours looking fer ya.”

Delilah laughed, shaking her multi-dyed head.

“And here I was scouring the café’s for you,” she grinned. “We’ve really got to get into the habit of texting twin, you know? At leas then we could find each other.”

“Ain’t never needed it ‘fore,” Tesu grumbled. “Ain’t seein a reason t’use it now.”

“Oh really,” Delilah shook her head again as they walked. “More often than not, I think we’re going to end up on two separate scales Twin. Texting will help us bridge, and slide the gap. Besides, according to Mom it’ll drive up the bill.”

If there was one thing Delilah knew for certain about her twin, it was that she never much cared about annoying their mother. The impish grin that Teus gave her was answer enough.

“Well, with that arranged, what say you we find a bit of food and a place to crash for the night? I hope you took notice of how we got here, because I think I missed it.”

“Y’always do,” Tesu ducked away from the punch Delilah threw, snickering. “Always in yer music-land. Ain’t no big thing, m’sure we c’n find us a place’re two that’ll be ‘fordable til we c’n get th hell outta here.”

Though neither twin wanted for money, they both knew how to be careful with it. This City, as had been noted, was large, and rather impressively occupied.

“Part ways in the morning and see what we can find before nightfall?”

“Sounds good t’me. Tho ifn y’can, ‘void th math-speakin nutcase fer me. Sommat ain’t right ‘bout ‘im, an…”

Delilah laughed.

“Looking out for me?” she teased. “Don’t worry twin, I know trouble when I see it. I’m not you to dive in forte allegro without taking care to place my notes properly on the score.”

Tesumi grumbled a little, and green eyes met with identical green, speaking in a language that was all too clearly their own.

“A’right,” the blackhaired teen sighed after a moment. “Y’gotta point t’ya. Le’s get movin, m’starvin here!”

Del grinned at her twin, and they headed off. Food first, lodging second. If nothing else… it would be an eventful night.
