It's actually not a good guide, because it simply goes off campaign rhetoric- namely what they decide to put on their campaign websites. It's easy to promise things, but can John Kerry really make up for 20 years of wrong choices and wrong votes?
B) A lot of people are not voting because they don't know anything about the cantidate's positions. Neither Bush nor Kerry will do even half the things they promise, but if you didn't watch the debates, at least that quiz presents their general stances on some of the bigger issues.
The election isn't about promises, it's about ideas and personal beliefs. And I wasn't promoting Kerry, I was promoting that websight, and voting in general.
Please don't use my livejournal to rant about your political stance.
I thought it was very interesting, even though we don't know for sure if either candidate will live up to their claims.
I ending up getting 67% Kerry and 33% Bush. Realistically though, some of those issues are weighted more than others. For me, the abortion issue is just as important as all the others put together, if not more so. So realistically I am more of a Bush supporter.
Even more realistically, I don't like either candidate, and don't intend to vote for either.
Cool link though.
