The problem is the actor who plays Hathaway is only 35 which makes his character way too young. Unless Lewis is set in the nineties?

Yes, he's totally too young. I'm trying to decide whether or not that's going to stop me. Or rather, if I'm willing to handwave the issue since adding time travel to the whole mix would be distracting.

No, adding time travel to the mix would be awesome! This is The X-Files! Time travel is real, though not without risks, of course. You'd need to think of a reason for Hathaway to travel to the past.
