I don't write creatively at all. Not even fanfic. I can't imagine doing something like Yuletide. What I've noticed though, from reading the fic produced over the years, is that most people are quite grateful with whatever they receive. That's the point of it. Making someone else's fannish wish come true. And I've never seen too many people complain about something not quite being what they wanted. The surprise of the gift is part of the fun.
So, I wouldn't worry about it. Ha, but I also know that everyone who participates in it, even the seasoned vets, always feel nervous each year.;)
I'd never even heard about Yuletide before this year, so thanks for the info. I just don't want the person to be let down. Even if they're not mean that would suck. :(
