Mary Margaret looked so helpless standing barely shielded from the rain that poured down around her, though hiding did no good when she was already soaked.
“Hey!” Emma called out, pushing open the passenger door of the bug, “Heard a distressed damsel needed a rescue.”
“Oh thank God.” Mary Margaret ducked inside immediately, soaking the seats and Emma in the process, “If I'd known it was going to rain I wouldn't have walked to school today.”
“Ah well at least you've got a white knight on hand to rescue the princess,” Emma brushed damp hair away from Mary Margaret's face, fingers skimming her skin.
The rain had had quite an effect on the brunette, turning her skin paler, making her light summer dress cling to her in a way that showed off everything the modest school teacher normally kept hidden.
“White knight?” Mary Margaret laughed, “Ah, my Prince Charming on a white horse is now my dorky roommate in a dented Volkswagen.”
“Dorky?” Emma raised an eyebrow, “I could make you walk.”
“How chivalrous. Thank you,” Mary Margaret kissed Emma's cheek in thanks, “my hero.”
Emma grinned, waiting til Mary Margaret had fastened her seatbelt before driving again, forcing herself to keep her eyes on the road instead of the passenger. “Now, let's get you home, out of wet clothes and warmed up.”
“I have a feeling this rescue mission has ulterior motives.” Mary Margaret said dryly.
“Is that a bad thing?”
“Not really.”
