Princess Bubblegum unlocks her car door and gets in, the leather seat squeaking embarrassingly as she slides into it.
She puts her keys into the ignition, but doesn't turn them yet. She watches as the peppermint shaped key chain dangles there, the only colorful thing in her collection of usual silver keys.
She couldn't recall why she'd gotten it or where, only that it'd been sometime last year.
Right as she was about to start her car up, someone opens the passenger door, blowing in cool autumn air.
It was Marceline. Of course....
She was dressed in an unusual drab get up consisting of gray pants and a sweatshirt. Her clothes were about the same color as her skin.
Princess Bubblegum leans back into her seat, trying not sigh at the sight of the other woman.
"What is it, Marceline?"
Marceline grins at her, her sharp teeth glistening. "Hey, Bonnibel, listen, do you think you could--"
"No," Bubblegum cuts in firmly. "I'm not giving you another spare vial of blood."
"Oh, come on, pleeeeease?"
"I said no," she repeats, doing her best not to level a glare at her. "I said it last time, that was the only time I was going to do that for you."
Marceline pouts playfully, her lower lip jutting out. "You know you want to..."
Bubblegum rolls her eyes. "Oh, yeah, like you're so irresistible?"
Marceline's mouth morphs into a smirk. "Most of the time, I am."
"Well, you're outta luck this time. Sorry, Marceline."
