The spare blanket Stella had given her was cool, but musty smelling. It was oddly comforting for some reason.
She feels the mattress on the other side of her sink down as Stella sat next to her. Stella wasn't usually affectionate, but Lindsay secretly hoped she would start petting her hair again, like she had earlier.
The death of Danny hung heavy in the air above her, as if it were a too warm blanket, humid everywhere.
Yet, she shudders and pulls her the blanket tighter around her. She think of it as like burying herself, but no, that was not the right choice of words, as if irony were deadly.
A sudden hand on her back nearly makes her jump, but contains it, her heart fluttering.
Stella had been nothing but gentle and sympathetic these past two weeks.
So, why did she feel trapped?
