Such a pretty thing. Flashing eyes and snarling teeth, dried blood and filthy words on her lips. So much anger, and Muriel cannot help but think of the potential of it. This woman, this Gretel, she could be a force to be reckoned with. A Grand White Witch, but Muriel could turn her, could show her the beauty of darkness. It wouldn’t take much; Gretel’s soul may be pure but she’s lived in violence for so long.
A push too far, perhaps a nasty little accident for her beloved brother, and Muriel’s quite certain she could snap that goodness in Gretel like a brittle twig.
She could turn Gretel. Muriel could own her.
She can just imagine it, that hatred stirred within Gretel, the havoc they could create. Watching as Gretel’s creamy skin turned twisted and ugly and glorious with each horrid deed Muriel coaxed from her.
Gretel would taste of dirt and leaves and the cruellest of magic, and Muriel would run her mouth over her entire body, devour her like the loveliest of poisons. Wringing gasps and cries from Gretel’s lips that would split the very heavens as they destroyed the world together.
But it’s not to be. She needs Gretel’s heart, for immortality is far more important than any pleasures of the flesh, no matter how tempting Gretel may be. An inconvenience, to be forced to choose, but every time fire licks Muriel’s skin and she does not burn, she will know she made the right decision.
